Soft Flap

First “soft landing” separation flap that
does not damage ejected injection molded parts
while separating good and bad products
according to the injection machine signal.

Functionality

Modern injection molding machines are able to determine the quality of the part
according to the production parameters.
For example: if the injection pressure curve deviates from the “usual” curve for more than 5%,
the machine can mark the part as “bad” and set the output signal “reject part”.

Soft Flap can be connected to this signal and can turn into the position “bad parts”
to direct such product into the box for “reject products”.

This signal can also be set for the production start,
where first 5 or 10 cycles are be marked as “reject”.
(until the machine production is stable and
the mold has reached the steady production temperature).
 

Better than usual flaps

Usual flaps for separation of the product are made out of sheet metal
and are source of damages of the just made and not completely solidified
plastic products, when this products hit the hard metal surface,
after they are ejected out of the mold.

No more damaged parts!

Soft Flap on the other hand is made out of special multilayer fabric material,
which prevents such damages.
The product falls on the soft surface without surface or structural damages of the product.

The problem with fabric materials is, that they do not last.
Thousands of sharp edged products or sprues fall on the same spot and damage the fabric.
This is not the case at Soft Flap, due to our special multilayer fabric material.
We had severe difficulties with durability of the fabric until we developed our special material!
 

Frame with magnets

This product consists of very light black metal frame,
with very strong rare earth magnets,
to fix the Soft separation Flap onto the machine frame under the injection mold.

The position of the each magnet can be adjusted in 2 directions to fit the machine perfectly.

The magnets can be adjusted along the black frame,
they can also be adjusted to fit the gap between the Soft Flap frame and machine frame.

Direction also on conveyor belts

The Soft Flap is a double mold funnel under the injection mold,
with two turn able sleeves for sliding of the product and
additional flap for directing the plastic products into the right sleeve.

The Soft Flap works perfectly also with conveyor belts,
where it delivers only the good products directly on the conveyor.
Due to the funnel “sleeve” the product slides nicely onto the conveyor
without damages to the just made injection molded plastic product.
